Programs & Services at the Food Centre

All are welcome to join these programs on drop-in basis. All programs are free of charge. Please see our calendar for schedule.
Community Meals: join us for a free and healthy delicious meal. Currently we have community meals on Monday evenings, Wednesday lunches, and Friday mornings.
Drop-In: come by during our drop-in times where you can meet staff and volunteers, learn about programs, access other community supports, or just relax with a coffee and the paper. We also serve breakfast!
Urban Farm: support the community garden from planting to harvest; learn from experienced gardeners or share what you know.
Affordable Weekly Produce Market: visit our weekly market for affordable produce.
Volunteer Program: help with the community meals, on our urban farm, or as a facilitator for one of our programs. See our Volunteer Page for more information or email our Volunteer Coordinator, Katherine Carey.
Get Moving: join us for a movement session such as our Walking Group or Gentle Yoga.
These programs require pre-registering and are all free of charge.
Community Kitchen: cook a meal with others in a group setting; all ingredients will be provided. We alternate between Youth and Adult programs. Contact Program Coordinator Melissa Rankin to register.
Foodfit: A 12-week program running on Saturday mornings, where participants learn about health, enjoy a meal, and take part in some light exercise. Email Amanda Nickerson to register.
Gardening programs: enjoy programs for young children and their parents, programs for school-aged children and teens, as well as community plot programs for all ages. Email farm coordinator Rob MacNeish for more information.
Community Action Training: come together to discuss issues that affect you and your community; plan how to take action through social justice groups. Contact Tammy Shields to find out more.
One-time food & health workshops: join us to learn and discuss issues related to food and health, e.g. diabetes, nutrition, and food budgeting.
